Our 2023 Highlights
What a year we’ve had…
Our 2023 event programme was a great success with over 26,000 visitors joining us at one of our 5 venues. We loved meeting everyone and helping visitors find the information and advice they needed about the Motability Scheme.
Our year kicked off with our flagship show at the NEC in May, where visitors got to explore the UK’s largest display of cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), adaptations and powered wheelchairs and scooters available on the Scheme.
Brand new for 2023 The Big Event at the NEC had an Innovation Zone which showcased future technology for cars, powered wheelchairs and scooters. The Motability Operations Innovation Team were on hand to answer questions, showcase their latest initiatives, and sign up customers for future innovation and product pilots.
As well as being our largest event of the year the NEC is the only show that has expert speaker sessions running all day. Visitors were able to enjoy lots of different talks with guest appearances from former Royal Marine and Invictus Games athlete, Mark Ormrod, and British Wheelchair Basketball’s Lee Manning adding to the excitement.
For the second year running, anyone unable to attend the event in person could tune in online to ‘The Big Event Streamed Live’. There were more than 7,000 online live views of the content from the day including exclusive Q&As and videos from around the show. If you missed it, all the online content is still available to watch, on demand.
Our programme of events continued across the summer and we enjoyed meeting more visitors in Northern Ireland, Exeter, Harrogate and Edinburgh. It was great to be able to provide lots of advice and information about the Scheme, our Electric Vehicle (EV) package and give visitors the chance to test drive lots of different cars, including EVs and cars fitted with popular driving adaptations.
