Test drives

The Big Event, Birmingham offers a great opportunity to test drive a wide range of vehicles, including Electric Vehicles. There will be standard production cars and vehicles fitted with popular driving adaptations available to try. You can test drive as a driver or passenger with a qualified professional drivers. 

Speaker sessions on demand

A great line-up, filmed live at The Big Event, Birmingham

A chance to watch the speaker sessions, interviews and tours from around the event. Covering everything from latest Scheme news, the journey to electric, adapted vehicles and even Strictly Come Dancing!

Special guests include Scheme customers Steve Brown a BBC TV presenter, Journalist and disability influencer Lucy Edwards, World Champion table tennis play Will Bayley MBE PLY and Mark Ormrod MBE former Royal Marine, Invictus Games athlete.

We want to make sure that all visitors to The Big Event have a fantastic day, we do our best to make our events as accessible and inclusive as possible. Here is some information to help you plan your visit.

Getting to the NEC (Halls 17 - 19)

The NEC is signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6 - the postcode is B40 1NT.

When you arrive at the NEC, look out for signs to The Big Event and continue to the designated car parks. These car parks are free for our visitors and are also the closest car parks to our event entrance.

The NEC is located less than a ten-minute walk from Birmingham International Railway Station.

A free shuttle bus will be running to and from Birmingham International Railway Station and The Big Event in Hall 18. To access the shuttle bus, simply turn right after the station barriers and head towards the NEC entrance. You will then see a sign for The Big Event shuttle bus. There is a lift here, which will take you down to the bus stop. The shuttle bus will then take you to Entrance 3, close to Hall 18. The return journey will run from here back to the station. There will be a sign for The Big Event shuttle bus outside Entrance 3 to show the exact pickup point. The buses will run every 15-20 minutes.

If you are travelling from Birmingham City Centre, you will need to take the X1 service (every 15 minutes) or the 97A (every 30 minutes). Local services also run from Solihull (966) and Coventry (900).

The NEC have teamed up with TOA Taxis to ensure a safe, friendly service is available to you 24/7.
