The Big Event programme is a series of annual events hosted by the Motability Scheme.
The Big Event programme kicks off with our flagship show - The Big Event, Birmingham which is our biggest event of the year. This is followed by three regional events taking place in Exeter, Harrogate and Edinburgh.
Our events are designed to showcase all elements of the Motability Scheme and raise awareness of what the Scheme offers.

The 2024 event programme will be kicking off with our flagship show - The Big Event Birmingham on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May.
This event is the biggest show of the year, where you can see the largest selection of cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), adaptations, powered wheelchairs and scooters all in one accessible place.
We also have three additional regional events taking place;
- Westpoint, Exeter - 28 and 29 June 2024
- Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate - 9 and 10 August 2024
- Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh - 13 and 14 September 2024
All events start at 9am and finish at 4pm.

In the lead up to each event we will announce what vehicles will be on display including Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, adaptation convertors and powered wheelchair and scooter manufacturers attending the events.

To take a test drive, you must have a full UK driving licence and have no more than either:
- 3 (three) penalty points, which may have been accrued for any conviction;
• 6 (six) penalty points in any one, or combination, of the following conviction categories: Speeding (SP), Construction and Use Offences (CU), Pedestrian Crossing (PC) or Traffic Signs/Directions (TS)
Any penalty points / endorsements over and above those listed above mean you will be unable to complete a test drive as a driver. Any endorsements with a conviction date of more than 5 (five) years’ old will not be counted.
To take a test drive, guests must bring their valid driving licence and sign our test drive declaration form on the day.
Test drives can only be booked on the day of the event by visiting the test drive booking desk.

You do not need to pre-register to attend The Big Event. Our events are free to attend and everyone is welcome.
You do not need your invitation to attend the event, it is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
Yes, everyone is welcome.
Only assistance dogs are welcome at the events.
Parking facilities and scooter hire
Yes, there will be free, accessible parking available at each event.
Please be assured we always try to book venues with as much flat, accessible parking as possible. On arrival, you will be directed to the closest available car parking space by our car parking stewards. Once you have parked your vehicle, car park assistants will be on hand to help you if needed. There is also an accessible car park shuttle service running from the car park to and from the main entrance.
Yes, wheelchair or powered scooters are available to hire free of charge at all the events. These can be booked by visiting the ‘Plan Your Day’ page for each event, where you will be able to see when the bookings open.
The welfare of all visitors is our number one priority, so if you have tested positive for COVID-19 please do not attend an event.
