One Big Day is back for 2023
We’re excited to announce the dates for the 2023 One Big Day programme, and it’s our biggest programme yet! Our events are the perfect way to find out everything you need to know about the Motability Scheme, see the latest vehicles available, and get lots of expert advice.
We’ll be kicking off 2023 with our flagship show, The Big Event at the NEC Birmingham on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 May, and this year it’s bigger than ever. It’s free to come along, and there’s plenty of free parking too.

- New at The Big Event
With technology changing so rapidly, come and explore our new Innovation Zone – where you can see future mobility products and solutions, including some which might become available on the Scheme. You can also talk to our Innovation Team and sign up to take part in trials to help us assess future options for the Scheme.
- Our biggest event of the year
You’ll get to see the UK’s largest showcase of cars, scooters and powered wheelchairs available on the Scheme, all in one accessible venue, and this year our flagship show is getting even bigger, giving more space to showcase our largest-ever display of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs).
- Speaker Sessions
Watch our live Speaker Sessions from a wide range of experts to get lots of advice and information on motoring and disability topics as well as some special guests too. These will run on both days and will be available to watch live online and on demand after the event.
- The Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Hub
Speak to our charging experts here to learn more about home chargepoints, electric vehicle range and lots of information about what to do when you’re charging on-the-go.
- Take a test drive
Test drives are an important part of helping you choose which vehicles best suit your needs. Our events offer a unique opportunity to test drive a wide range of vehicles, including some fitted with popular driving adaptations. Available at every event, these can be booked on the day.
You’ll be able to:
- Test drive up to three vehicles, on and off the road
- Drive yourself or ride as a passenger, with a qualified driving instructor
- Try popular driving adaptations – with dual controls for your safety

The Big Event: Streamed Live will be back by popular demand, so you can watch it all online instead. Our host Helen Dolphin, MBE will bring you all the Speakers Sessions live, as they happen, plus exclusive interviews, demos, Q&As and footage from across the two-days at the NEC.

In addition to the event in Birmingham, there will be THREE regional One Big Days, and an extended two-day event in Edinburgh. We’re also very excited to finally return to Northern Ireland after almost five years.
- Saturday 24 June – One Big Day at Eikon Exhibition Centre, Northern Ireland
- Saturday 22 July – One Big Day at Westpoint, Exeter
- Saturday 12 August – One Big Day at Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
- Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September – The Big Event at Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh
