Our 2022 highlights

As the year draws to a close, we wanted to take this opportunity to share highlights from 2022.

It was great to be back holding face-to-face events again and it was wonderful to see so many people return to One Big Day and The Big Event, as well as welcome lots of new faces.

We hosted the first ever ‘The Big Event: Streamed Live’, for anyone who wanted to join the event online. With ten Speaker Sessions, six Q&A interviews and a whole host of product demonstration and tours to watch, it was a great way for people to find out more about what’s available on the Motability scheme, electric motoring and other disability related topics, all from the comfort of home!

Here are the 2022 highlights:

  1. Record Attendance

We welcomed a record number of attendees to our One Big Day events this year, with over 11,000 people coming along to The Big Event at the NEC alone.

  • Successful Test Drives

With the return of face-to-face events, we were pleased to be able to offer test drives again in both standard production cars and vehicles fitted with popular driving adaptations . Our brand-new scooter track also proved to be a hit, giving visitors the chance to test out the latest powered wheelchairs and scooters!

  • All-day live streaming – ‘The Big Event: Streamed Live’

This year we had an always-on live stream, bringing all the action from The Big Event at the NEC to people’s homes across the UK. Over 3,900 people tuned in to watch the Speaker Sessions, as well as see exclusive Q&As with a range of motoring experts, and talks from special guests Graeme Hall (Channel 5’s ‘The Dogfather’) and Paralympian Richard Whitehead. We also featured live demos of powered wheelchairs and scooters, and discussions with our Scheme partners.

You can still check out all of the content from The Big Event: Streamed Live here

  • Electric Vehicles made a splash

For the first time ever, we had a dedicated Electric Vehicle Info Hub at all our events, showcasing a range of electric cars, including the first eWAV on the Scheme. Our charging partners Ohmee and Easee were there demonstrating their home charge units, and Zap Map were on hand to share the latest app technology that helps people to find their closest electric chargers while on the go.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to the events or joined us online. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did and found all the information you needed.

If you haven’t checked out the on demand content yet, we’ve created a hub where you can watch all the content from The Big Event: Streamed Live – watch now!
